keskorra
happenings, excursions, workshops...

The project centres around collaborative installation and exploration of the Cornish landscape. Keskorra means ‘to assemble’ in Kernowek (the Cornish Language). In this specific context it depicts assembling objects of art and intrigue and to socially gather, creating an assembly of people. The aim was to create an honest representation of local artists’ relationship to where they live and celebrate the wonder of non verbal communication and collective memory when inhabiting the same space. We installed, made sounds, foraged, talked, ate, walked, swam, made sounds, made plays, filmed.....
This final event for Kei’s residency will host a short film made by Samuel Bestwick and a series of photos shot by Alice Cooke. They will document the pilgrimage to each place and the use of play between object person and space. Focusing rather on the shared experience between the artists than the individual creative outcomes.

celebratory lantern making workshop at the fish factory
the fish factory in Penryn commissioned artists to put together summer workshops for the community.
in the spirit of welcoming in the warmer months,
the energy of fire from the sun lighting the skies and nourishing the plants
i ran a celebratory lantern making workshop where we made paper, bamboo and willow lanterns, decorated with foraged pressed wildflowers, nettle, oak and hawthorn leaves, beetroot and turmeric juice.
candles were given so that they could be illuminated or even set alight to ignite our summer intentions to the ether

investigating thought processes and actions prompted by food, fire, and making the bread.
Appreciating people being together and nurturing the fire with wood and our bodies with bread.
we also fired bits of clay.
